We are leaders in providing robust and sound solutions toward revegetation, dust suppression, and soil erosion control in any given industry. We cater to all Hydromulching needs across Canberra – be it in the mining sector, resources, civil, and infrastructure industry – through our time-tested approaches.
We have demonstrated experience in providing services that contribute to the rehabilitation of environments in the Canberra area. We continuously achieve this through effective remediation programs in hydromulching that impact the surrounding areas positively through increased dust suppression, control of soil erosion, and plant regrowth.
We aim to unceasingly supply top-notch products and services to our customers, as well as consider the health, safety, and welfare of our valued workforce as our highest of priorities. These are the reasons why we have committed to operating using integrated safety protocols, environmental and quality management systems that adhere to superior ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS/NZS 4801 standards.
Our hydromulching services are the answers you seek if you are looking to restore vast tracts of land efficiently in a short period. No matter the type of your terrain, rest assured that we can provide a solution mapped out just for you.
We have high respect for miners who have a deep passion for the environment and, thus, immediately commence mine reclamation once their mining operations have concluded. That is, for us, tantamount to prioritising social and environmental responsibilities.
Over the years, we have worked with similar organisations in the mining sector that share our passion, allowing us to contribute a role in restoring vast mining sites into livable communities.
We are aware that some local miners may initiate rehabilitative programs on their own. However, due to several factors such as poor implementation or lack of backed experience, such projects have led to unsatisfactory results.
Commonly, these miners fail to accurately assess the damage of the soil caused by past mining activities. In doing so, they needlessly strip away the healthy nutrients in the ground, diminishing the chance for plant regrowth.
If you choose to work with us, we can guarantee that you will be able to bypass such an error. The reason is that we make sure to address all environmental situations unique to every site we handle through the modern soil restoration techniques we have mastered.
We firmly believe that in any restoration project, it is vital to obtain a correct assessment of the health of the soil to evaluate damages to the environment properly.
That is the reason why we consider it an essential requirement to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the site’s soil characteristics, the amount of rainfall it typically experiences, the history of the land’s use, as well as the presence of any microorganisms, habitats, or settlements in the area. Doing so gives us the ability to determine the ideal approach to rehabilitation.
We understand the dangers associated with lands prone to soil erosion and landslides. For this reason, we have continuously worked with our local government in aiding public service efforts. Our many years of cooperative operations with the local government have given us deep insight into the risks faced by communities near mountainous and deforested regions.
We are glad to play a role in helping provide livable communities around Canberra, as we have seen firsthand the devastation these natural calamities can cause in a community.
Our State governing bodies consider it an utmost priority to address the degradation of our public lands. Our rivers and waterways are deteriorating, and our foreshores are eroding.
Australian regions also cannot seem to escape the annual bushfires that plague our forests and hills yearly. Although lower intensity bushfires are known to fertilise the ground through the conversion of dead plant tissues into nutrients, the higher intensity fires, unfortunately, strip away much of the nutrients in the soil.
It, therefore, becomes crucial to ensure proper soil testing procedures amid all these natural calamities as this aids in evaluating the soil’s health, thereby allowing us to craft a suitable method or rehabilitation for each unique site.
We feel exceedingly privileged to have the opportunity to work alongside different State governing bodies, delivering solutions that foster a revitalised environment for the public lands which are under their purview.
It is our honour to continuously contribute to the restoration projects sponsored by the Australian Defence Force (ADF), promoting sustainable land management as well as the responsible use of its current estates. We gladly take part in preserving the biodiversity of military-owned properties, converting military training grounds into wildlife sanctuaries.
We hope the Defence Force will continue to initiate efforts to restore its military grounds and ensure the liveability of its biodiversity across Canberra.
Hydromulching, no matter the method utilised, is an effective means of gaining the following advantages:
The Bonded Fibre Matrix approach ensures the direct binding of the soil with the slurry containing the seeds, which minimises soil erosion.
If you have a vast tract of land that has been barren for some time and are looking to cultivate such land, hydromulching may be the solution you are looking for. We utilise strategies that we make specifically to meet your needs, regardless of the type of terrain that your area has. It can be composed of flatlands, steep slopes, or part of a verge, but it will not hinder the application of our time-tested approaches.
Below are the types of terrain we service in Canberra.
Our high-quality services are safe and environment-friendly and work effectively in a broad range of substrates, locations and climates. So, no matter your site’s condition, we are sure it will experience regrowth the first time around.
We understand how every site is unique, that is why we make sure to tailor our approach for each, ensuring the best chance of success.
• Hydraulic Growth Medium (HGM) The HGM approach is an enhanced method that utilises microbiological amendments. It involves spraying the soil with a slurry mixture that is composed of water, seed, fertiliser, cellulosic mulch fibres like straw or wood fibres, tracking dye, and a binder that is specially-designed.
The mulch added to the slurry acts as the Hydraulic Growth Medium or HGM. This medium gives a protective cover and a reservoir of moisture for the seed. Which, in turn, creates the ideal growth environment with improved soil health, optimising germination, allowing water to infiltrate easily towards the seeds, and releasing nourishment – the inevitable effect: long term and sustainable plant growth.
Also, the sturdy binders present in the slurry mixture creates a strong bond between mulch fibres. The solid crust formed protects the surface from erosion while waiting for the seed to germinate, grow, and assist in holding the soil together.
This protective cover maximises dust suppression and inhibits the wind and water runoff from blowing away seeds or carrying them, keeping the seeds in place to make sure they develop a healthy root system.
•Bonded Fibre Matrix (BFM)
BFM utilises the same materials used for HGM. However, there is the addition of a non-rewetting binder. The binder acts as a strong bond between the surface of the soil and the slurry. For this reason, the Bonded Fibre Matrix can be applied at a much higher rate. The BFM acts as a hydromulching growth medium with a highly-efficient matrix, blending water and nutrients in a suitable growing environment.
As a first step, we spray the ground with a slurry composed of seeds and fertiliser in a water solution. After ensuring seed to soil contact, we then proceed to go over the seeds with a slurry made of top-quality binder and organic mulch that’s blended in water.
Doing this two-step process maximises the effectiveness of the application as the superior binding performance of the solution creates the ideal environment for regrowth.
The slurry will tend to form itself according to the contours of the soil’s surface, creating a suitable terrain for the seeds. This reduces soil erosion and ensures the functional longevity on steep batters, slopes, verges, and flat areas while waiting for vegetation to establish a secure root reinforcement.
Our continuous goal of contributing to a healthy and revitalised environment has encouraged us to fully-commit to serving all of Australia – notably, the Canberra area and these following locations:
Our team of devoted experts and the large-scale hydromulching equipment we have at our disposal make us capable of delivering the solution to your property’s restoration needs. As we continue to aid public service efforts in rehabilitating our natural habitats and improve the living conditions of our communities, we are glad to be contributing to the reduction of the risks involved in widespread soil erosion and landslides.
We are proud to be utilising updated research-based rehabilitation methods that result in rapid plant growth every time. Each site is examined for any unique characteristics when mapping out the rehabilitation approach even before we implement the actual application. Doing this achieves the best possible outcome for your land.
All these reasons make us confident that we can deliver the desired results in revegetation, soil erosion control, and dust suppression all over Canberra.
We are a company that specialises in providing sound and effective revegetation and erosion control solutions to the mining, resources, civil and infrastructure industries Australia-wide through Hydroseeding and Hydromulching solutions.
